I loved it! I thought Jeremy Strong was incredible, and it was such a treat to be in such a small theater to see such world class performances. I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
I’m typing this from my phone using only my left thumb lol but had to comment because I’m seeing An Enemy of the People Saturday! How did you like it? Also, I remember LIVING for JK Simmons in Whiplash! GOD, what a performance.
Oh no, I hope your recovery is going well and that the surgery wasn't too painful! I love An Enemy of the People - I though Jeremy Strong was incredible, and it was such a treat to be so close to him and Michael Imperioli. What did you think? Glad you had something fun to do even while you're recovering!
Everything went well, thank you! Am slowly getting back to typing. An Enemy of the People was my bf's Christmas present to his mother so we had these plans for a while and I was feeling well enough thank God because somehow, we ended up ALONE IN THE LOBBY WITH JEREMY STRONG after the show as he was leaving!!! My bf and I congratulated him and he was so gracious. I ALMOST DIED lol! I thought the show was INCREDIBLE. I was blown away, heartbroken, etc. I loved every second.
Lots to digest here! I am loving Shogun. It is not just a visual masterpiece but the acting is oh so good 💋👌🏼 It makes me want to re visit the 1980 Shogun production with Richard Chamberlain. I remember that being an epic journey. Might be interesting to see the difference in production value.
Love the trip down memory lane with Our Town via Tom Lake. I will definitely put that on my to read list. 😘💋
Hi I’m new here but man you got me with that first paragraph & also I’m so excited to read Tom Lake! But my sister has it right now so we’ll see how long it takes for me to get my hands on it lol
Welcome to The Culture Diet! You'll have to let me know what you think of Tom Lake once you're able to pry it from your sister. I just thought it was such a lovely, gentle but impactful book.
1. I Also loved Tom Lake so much 2. I remember exactly where I saw whiplash as a college senior too! In the valley of all places, post vintage shopping haha
I love that you remember exactly where you were too - it just had that kind of viewing impact I think! And Tom Lake just was good for the soul, it made me unexpectedly very emotional.
How did you like Enemy?? I just saw it on Saturday and thought it was phenomenal!!

Agree, such a stellar performance from all actors involved. My seats were fourth row so it was surreal to be that close in that theatre!

I didn't know you were watching Shogun! We'll have to discuss. I've not seen the Richard Chamberlain version, but now you have me curious.
